The Magnetic Theatre

Featured in the New York Times, Charleston Magazine, Asheville Citizen-Times, Mountain Xpress, Rapid River Magazine, The Laurel of Asheville, WNC Magazine, Verve Magazine, Bold LIfe Magazine, The Asheville Scene, and on many blogs and websites, The Magnetic Theatre is a not-for-profit production company that gives original works and the people who make them a home to share with enthusiastic audiences. We are proud to be the only theatre in the southeast that presents all-original works, and the first professional theatre in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC.

We are committed to new work, from conception to production, and we are also committed to our local base of artistic talent.

We have an ever-growing company of writers, directors, actors, improvisers, choreographers, composers, musicians, performers, designers, technicians, and volunteer staff to make it all happen.

We are always interested in meeting and working with new people, so please do come introduce yourself to us!

What you’ll see here can’t be seen anywhere else, and more often than not, you’ll see it first.
